Most problems turn out to be one of three things: a permission that is switched off, a device that is out of range, or a device whose battery is flat. The sections below cover all three, and may save you the wait for a reply. The app is currently in review and not yet available to download.
What the app does
Radar scans for the Bluetooth signals broadcast by devices around you and shows how strongly each one arrives, so you can walk toward the one you are looking for. You can save the devices you care about — your earbuds, your headphones, your speaker — so they are recognised immediately instead of being lost among the dozens of anonymous entries a normal scan turns up.
Permissions
The app asks for Bluetooth permission, which iOS requires before any app can scan. It is used to detect nearby devices and for nothing else. If you declined the prompt, scanning will find nothing until you re-enable it in iOS Settings, then the app’s entry, then Bluetooth.
Bluetooth is the only permission the app asks for. It does not use Core Location and does not access GPS or your location in any form — see the privacy policy for the full detail.
Common problems
The app shows no devices at all. What is wrong?
Almost always a permission or a range problem rather than a fault. Check that Bluetooth is switched on in iOS Settings, and that the app has Bluetooth permission under Settings, then the app name. If both are fine, move to the room where the device you want was last used — Bluetooth range is only about 10 to 30 feet indoors, so a scan from the wrong room finds nothing.
My device is not in the list, but I know it is nearby.
Wait a full 30 to 60 seconds without moving. Devices that have been dormant for hours advertise themselves far less often to save battery, sometimes only once every couple of seconds, so a short glance at the list is not enough. If it still does not appear, the battery is likely flat — a powered-off device transmits nothing and cannot be detected.
Why does the distance reading jump around so much?
Because it is inferred from signal strength rather than measured. Walls, furniture, metal and your own body all absorb the signal and make a device read further away than it is, and reflections can cause the reading to dip even as you get closer. Watch whether the trend rises or falls as you walk instead of reading the number itself.
Why is there no arrow pointing to my device?
A single phone antenna measures how strong a signal is, not the direction it came from, so no Bluetooth app can draw a reliable arrow. Direction finding needs ultra-wideband hardware at both ends, which is what Apple uses for AirTag precision finding. Walking a few paces and comparing readings supplies the direction instead.
Can the app find my earbuds if they are turned off?
No. A device with no power broadcasts nothing, so there is nothing for any app to detect. This is a limit of radio rather than a limitation of the app. If the battery is flat, use the last place the device was connected as a starting point and search that area systematically.
I found my device in the list but cannot make it play a sound.
Playing audio needs a full Bluetooth connection, not just detection. Pair the device in iOS Settings first, then play something at volume. Some devices will not connect while they are already connected to another phone, tablet or laptop, and earbuds shut inside a closed charging case usually will not play at all.
Does the app work in the background?
Scanning is most reliable with the app open and the screen on, because iOS restricts background Bluetooth activity to preserve battery. For an active search, keep the app in the foreground while you walk around.
Does the app send my scan results anywhere?
No. Scanning happens on your phone and the devices it detects are not transmitted to us or to anyone else. Saved devices are stored locally on the phone, and deleting the app deletes them. There is no account and no sign-in.

Ten seconds gives you a baseline, so you can recognise real change from noise.

Stronger means continue, weaker means turn around. Your movement is the direction sensor.

Small objects end up under cushions, in bag linings and behind furniture.

Connect and play audio. Your ears beat radio for the last few feet.
